Objective: Train an IntelSight controller in recycling warehouses to visually identify various medical devices loaded onto a conveyor belt. Medical devices are to be detected based on manufacturer name, reference number, lot, UDI #, date status, # of units, and quantity per unit. The number of detected medical devices will be recorded, saved for safekeeping, and flagged for removal by humans. IntelSight will recognize the different medical devices with a high degree of accuracy.
Solution: Utilize IntelSight to gather data and train a network to detect surplus medical devices and search them through databases for their value and marketability.
Status: Proof-of-concept is under development.
Future: Test proof-of-concept on real-world samples from medical device recyclers and implement a robotic sorting system to sort the medical devices.
