Neatco Engineering Services is looking for a candidate to fulfill the position of a programmer, focusing on the areas of machine vision and deep learning. As a member of a highly motivated, dynamic team, you will select, design and deploy world-class advanced machine learning solutions that will be used to develop an innovative AI-driven robotic sorting technology known as IntelSight. The position would involve assisting in the development and programming of tools for training of neural networks to be used in a variety of projects. Further tasks could include assisting with part selection and quoting, software integration, and front-end-development for computer vision interfaces. The successful candidate should be passionate, driven, and be a fast, self-directed learner. They should be adaptable and willing to fill a variety of roles as needed for our machine vision projects. Familiarity with programming, preferably python, and machine vision concepts is preferred. Candidates must be available to work in person at our office in Waterloo on a full-time basis.

Duties

• Development: Research cutting edge tools from multiple libraries for use in AI systems.
• Programming: Work on updating software tools and interfaces used for current development projects. Update labelling tools to create datasets for artificial intelligence training. 
• Remote Assistance: Assist on-site workers with calibration, debugging, and improvements.
• AI Backend Development: Work on the development of data harvesting for on-site systems allowing for continual retraining.
• Work with computer vision systems and make libraries for camera interfaces.
• Communicate with industry partners, suppliers, and customers as required.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Previous experience in research and/or development (or equivalent) is an asset;
• Minimum of 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Equivalent (MASc or PhD preferred);
• Multitask between projects and adhere to timelines;
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess compliance and formulate recommendations;
• Proficient with computer tools including word processing and spreadsheet software, on-line systems and databases to prepare information, correspondence and reports;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to work independently, and collaboratively within a research environment;
• Capable and willing to work with minimal supervision;
• Ability to adhere to safety rules and regulations;
• A successful applicant should have experience with the following tools:
  • Python and C++ proficiency
  • Pytorch or other Machine Learning Libraries
  • Machine Vision Experience (OpenCV, PIL, or scikit-image preferred)
  • Graphic User Interface (GUI) design

Neatco Engineering Services is looking for a candidate to fulfill the position of a full-time technologist, focusing on the areas of robotics and mechanical design. The position would involve designing, programming, and interfacing for our vision-guided robotic systems, as well as design of enclosures, stands, end-of-arm tooling, and other components for our projects. Further tasks could include assisting with part selection and quoting, electrical CAD and wiring, and programming of PLC systems. The successful candidate should be passionate, driven, and be a fast, self-directed learner. They should be adaptable and willing to fill a variety of roles as needed for our robotics projects. Familiarity with SolidWorks, CODESYS, KEBA, and machine vision concepts is preferred. Candidates must be available to work in person at our office in Waterloo on a full-time basis.

• Development: Research robotic technologies and design automated systems and parts for deployment in customer facilities.
• Design: Create drawings for custom-designed components and electrical schematics and wiring diagrams for electrical panels.
• Programming: Work on updating PLC code and HMI interfaces used for current development projects. 
• Remote Assistance: Assist on-site workers with calibration, debugging, and improvements.
• Purchasing: Assist with part-selection, quoting, and ordering of components for projects
• Communicate with industry partners, suppliers, and customers as required.

Job Requirements

• Previous experience in research and/or development (or equivalent) is an asset;
• Minimum of 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Equivalent (MASc or PhD preferred), or 3-year technologists diploma;
• Experience with structured text or other IEC 61131-3 programming languages and Codesys or KEBA environments;
• Multitask between projects and adhere to timelines;
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess compliance and formulate recommendations;
• Proficient with computer tools including word processing and spreadsheet software, on-line systems and databases to prepare information, correspondence and reports;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to work independently, and collaboratively within a research environment;
• Capable and willing to work with minimal supervision;
• Ability to adhere to safety rules and regulations;
